Hot Power Yoga - All Levels

This class is taught by:

Erica Arce

Erica Arcé is a sculptor, Thai Yoga therapist and an E-RYT 500. She’s also a sun worshipper, ocean lover and fan of sci-fi/fantasy. In 2009, after following her dream of studying art, Erica paused her rising art career to pursue a deeper knowledge of yoga. A self taught yogini since 2000, Erica trained at Kripalu Center, where she learned from the teachers who would set her on a path of service to the world. Her classes are slow and flowing; music is atmospheric. Think Moby. ! Erica is a graduate of Kripalu’s 200hr + 500hr training, and of Pranotthan’s 200hr. She is a former Kripalu resident and faculty of Kripalu trainings. She has also managed and taught for Prannothan’s 200hr training. She trained at Lotus Palm Thai Yoga Massage school, Ayurvedic track. ! Erica teaches weekly yoga classes in New York and New Jersey and leads workshops and retreats throughout the Northeast and Carribean.

Jay Karlinski

Jay Karlinski, a 500 hour certified yoga teacher, is a world traveler, explorer, and committed yogi for nearly 20 years. Jay lived at the world renowned Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health for 2 years, teaching and eventually directing their yoga teacher training program. His classes are focused on creating strength and stability through dynamic movement and energizing balance postures. Please come to class prepared to be challenged!
Jay has traveled the world in search of adventure and experience. He served in the Peace Corps in Guatemala, living in a small, rural mountain village. He taught English in Thailand, lived in an orphanage in India. He lived, worked, and played in Mexico and Jamaica. He climbed Machu Pichu, explored the Amazonian rain forests. He trekked through the jungles of Borneo in search of the wild orangutan, rode his bicycle (with his dog) across the USA. He paraglided in the Andes, bungee jumped in Costa Rica, surfed (poorly) huge waves in Indonesia. He skydived, scuba dived, zip lined, and spelunked. He has hiked all the great National Parks of America and Canada, got lost in Tazmania, snorkeled in Fiji, and volunteered with Operation Smile in Vietnam. He has led yoga teacher trainings in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York. He has explored Laos, Cambodia, Bolivia, Australia, and countless places in between. Through all of the adventures and all of the experienes, yoga has been the constant. Jay believes that a truly effective yoga practice informs all life experiences, by bringing increased awareness and aliveness to all that we do.

She truly found her calling when she was introduced to Yoga. She went on to receive her certification through Yoga Synthesis in Ramsey by Raji Thron. Stacey is married and has three beautiful children who also participate in the practice of Yoga.

Alison Miller

She has a 200 hour certification in Vinyasa Flow from Barefoot Movement in Oakland, California and an additional 200 hour certification in Kripalu yoga from master teacher, Paula Heitzner. Starting a career in dance in her late twenties, Alison discovered that a background in yoga provided her with the vocabulary and understanding to evolve safely and proficiently at an accelerated rate. Alison brings a dynamic approach to her yoga classes, drawing on Feldenkrais, Tai chi, Pilates, and Kundalini yoga. She believes balancing strength with flexibility is the soundest way to cultivate the human body. She offers her students accessible building blocks to better understand the postures and move with precise alignment, while cultivating a relationship to the breath. As a teacher, Alison’s greatest joy is witnessing students tackle their fears and surrender to the process of transformation . Website coming soon at Yoginizucchini.com

Jessi Wing

Jessi is a 500hr Ayurveda inspired yoga teacher with additional certifications in Ayurveda, Yin and Restorative yoga. Yoga found Jessi at a very pivotal time in her life. She had been looking for some sense of peace amidst the chaos, and found yoga to be the game changer. During a transformational year, she filled her days with the practice until she realized she had stumbled onto the right path, and was headed somewhere truly magical. She decided to dive deeper, and immersed herself in her 200hr teacher training under Kim Crotty and Denise Egan, coming to appreciate that growth requires strength, and strength requires growth. Jessi couldn't get enough, extreme in all that she does, her insatiable hunger for knowledge led her to take that next step, completing her 300hr Advanced Vinyasa training under Amy Pastore. Her advanced iflow yoga studies were humbling. Reining in her free thinking, big-picture outlook, she developed a great attention to detail, allowing her to fine-tune her offerings. Looking at yoga through an ayurvedic lens, Jessi integrates the art and science of longevity into her teachings to keep her students balanced and safe on their yoga journey. She brings her colorful experiences, coupled with a passion for movement to encourage others to carve out time to feed their body and soul. The opportunity to find stillness within a physically demanding practice is what she offers her students. The music, the movement and the breath brought together in a practice of personal acceptance and patience is what inspires Jessi.

She discovered that yoga, along with a proper fitness and nutrition plan, could reverse the ill effects of a stressful, unbalanced life. Masumi was inspired to begin practicing yoga after losing mobility due to a painful flare-up in her joints and tendons. By embracing yoga, meditation and a macrobiotic diet, she was able to heal and rehabilitate parts of her body that lost flexibility after months of inflammation and chronic pain. This healing experience prompted her to follow her passion to inspire people to live healthy, happy lives through a regular yoga practice. Today, she embraces a “yoga for everyone” philosophy. Masumi’s classes are challenging but remain accessible to students of all levels, with plenty of modifications to suit different needs. Expect stability training, core strengthening, and an opportunity to learn and grow in a judgment-free zone.
